Snickers' Blog

So lately mom has been pacing a lot and going to check the mail a couple times a day and obsessively checking her e-mail. Who does that?! Then yesterday she came home from the mailbox with a big box. Since it was a pretty day, she went out to the deck with 0-mom to open the box. I thought maybe it was Christmas or somebody’s birthday because everyone was so excited. They even got out the camera!

Mom was really careful with the knife. I figured whatever was in that box was pretty important. Maybe it was some gourmet dog food?

Nope, it turned out to be Mom’s book

Mom said it was pretty much the coolest moment of her life. I know she meant her coolest non-Snickers moment. O-mom kinda teared up and then there was happy dancing (they didn’t take pictures of that). Sometimes, I wish I could take the pictures, but Mom says thumbs are really helpful for that. Anyway, I think it did make Mom happy to get her books. She sure looks happy.

Don’t forget: Mom will be signing books at Barnes & Noble on Friday evening!!

Last week Mom came home with a new friend for Lucy and me to play with. Her name is Ethel, and she came to us because her elderly people could no longer take care of her. As it turns out, we think Ethel is deaf . . . either that or she is just playing us. At first, she was very scared, but now she has settled in. Her favorite place to be is on Mom’s lap. I’m not sure how I feel about that!!

I think she looks a little too comfy there if you ask me. Anyway, she’s pretty good, and both my moms are giving extra treats so it works out for everybody!

Anyway, I’ve been thinking about the name of this blog. “Snickers’ Blog” is not very original.  So, please help come up with a name that is creative, fun, and is all about me Send in your ideas by July 27th. I’ll pick my favorite, and the winner will get a copy of Mom’s new book (signed, of course, by both of us) when it comes out in August. Sounds like a plan to me.

When Mom told me I could have my very own blog, I was confused. After all, I’m a dog . . . typing can be a challenge. No thumbs, you know. But then she told me that I was now famous due to being the star of her book, and I thought to myself, “Snickers, you owe this to your public. They will be thrilled to hear your innermost thoughts, your musings on life, the inside dish on what Mom is up to now.”

So here I am . . . blog day one, and I’m so excited my tail is doing that propeller thing. Just so you know, Mom is playing a wedding this weekend, and I was not invited. Nevertheless, I will be waiting for her to come home so she can get back to work on her next novel. She won’t tell me if I’m in it yet!

Oh, and be on the lookout for the first official Snicker’s blog contest . . . with a prize and everything!
